Starting in 2022, the Marcegaglia Foundation has been working alongside the Idee Migranti Onlus association which, in partnership with the Snam Foundation, has launched the three-year Motivo Donna project. This is the creation of a female textile micro-enterprise that generates a job and income opportunity for disadvantaged women in Italy, particularly in the communities of the suburbs of Milan.
The objectives of the project are to provide an opportunity for concrete and long-term self-employment to 3 young women in their first work experience, but at the same time to test a replicable social enterprise model, capable of triggering virtuous processes of resilience and growth. social.
The project will begin with the weaving training and sampling development of three vulnerable women, former victims of violence, by Livia Crispolti, textile designer and professor of Fashion design and Textile Culture at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan.
After the training period, the tools and materials necessary for production will be purchased and a textile workshop will be set up in a 50sqm space at Snam in San Donato.
The women beneficiaries of the project will be hired by Guri I ZI Social Enterprise and also trained on the main issues related to female social entrepreneurship through participation in workshops dedicated to the analysis of the Guri I Zi business model. Furthermore, Guri I Zi Srl will initiate the girls to work through the creation of 6 capsule collections for the home textile sector which will be included in the distribution channels of Guri I Zi and in the social supply chain of Snam also through an ad hoc communication campaign.
