The project “INNESTI: Women’s talents for ancient know how”, proposed by Consorzio CO.AL.A of Asti, is the winner of the2014 tender “Give us an Idea!” addressed to Marcegaglia Group employees in Italy. “Innesti” aims to safeguard, in the Astigian territory, the craftmanship, that is being lot, to stimulate the creativity and entrepreneurship of Italian and foreign women in distress, caring for their professional growth and social inclusion. The project envisages two areas of intervention: the training and the training on the job of 8 beneficiaries at three “workshops”: ethnic catering, weaving and manufacturing of holy wafers.
The first 8 beneficiaries were selected according to the need but also the desire to get involved and with an entrepreneurial spirit. In a first phase, they received general training on topics such as company communication, enterprise creation support, and I.T.at the company. Later, meetings for the 3 subgroups started with a customized path. Women also had the opportunity to take internships in local businesses to develop skills that are useful for job placement.
