ClosedFARO – Scholarships

The Marcegaglia Foundation and Terre des Hommes launched in April 2016 the “FARO-scholarships” project, which will allow some twenty unaccompanied foreign children to benefit from scholarships.

The aim is to give to the most deserving young people the access to training or job placement courses in a field where they have particular skills and attitudes, to help them build their life project in Italy. The tender, publicized throughout the national territory, is aimed at unaccompanied minors or young adults up to 21 years of age to give them the opportunity to compete for a contribution of up to 1500 euros for professional training courses like educational courses; sport paths and / or artistic meaningful paths.

Thanks to the contribution of Fondazione Marcegaglia, 11 scholarships have been awarded. In the videos the testimony of some of the beneficiaries.

Prince comes from Rwanda and thanks to his scholarship he can continue his high school studies by becoming a boarding student (he lives far from the school for graphic designers, which he chose). He is deaf and dumb but has great talent in design and is improving his understanding of the Italian language and expression in the sign language.

Wurry is 19 years old and comes from Ghana, thanks to the scholarship he has done an internship as dental technician by showing himself very capable and cut out for this job.
